Hi there, Well, my three angels all have this bump... and I really hope its normal. I'm not sure if they all had it at first, but now they all do. I won't make wild guesses about what it is..... my imagination is too good Anna

A well fed angelfish or a female filled with eggs will appear more plump than normal. If, however, you begin to see the fish breathing heavily, isolating itself excessively, or stop eating or spitting out food, that bump could be a sign of bloat, a form of dropsy or possibly a type of internal bacterial issue. Because you did not list any changes of behaviour in your initial post, I would probably agree with DPFHPRES and classify it as normal, meaning nothing to worry about, although I would advise you to monitor it's behaviour. Best of luck!

Thanks, she does seem to have her little 'ovopositor' out all the time! I've turned some slate on its side, in case she wants somewhere to go... but I'm not going to 'breed' them, just let them get on with it. I've cut back on the feeding a bit, and one of them seems a bit flatter, so maybe they were just a bit full - thank goodness! thanks again, anna
